One quote struck me:
"Core to the consumer proposition of Netflix is on demand and consumer control."
We are now seeing a battle between curation and consumer intention (Netflix) vs. 300+ channels surfed mindlessly (Cable TV).
Perhaps products that focus on curation and require their users to approach them with intent will supplant today's social applications (Twitter, FB, LinkedIn, Instagram) which are primarily designed around an endless feed that has become this generation's version of mindlessly scrolling through TV channels.
