Science of the Week
What happens when bad people push bad science to justify bad decisions?
This podcast digs into the pseudo-science behind Eugenics. The current US president is an outspoken believer in Eugenics and the current Attorney General has described the 1924 Immigration Law—which was inspired by Eugenics—as being "good for America." That law placed strict immigration quotas on Italians, Jews, Eastern Europeans, and Asians who were considered "undesirable" compared to Northern Europeans.
Someone should tell those guys the science is shoddy. This is an entertaining episode that merges science and history from one of my new favorite podcasts - Science Vs.
