Photos of the Week
Om Malik a technology writer and photographer gives us a glimpse into his days of solitude while longing to return to his happy place— Ocean Beach in San Francisco. The quiet desolation, wide skies, and deep, cold waters at the edge of America somehow match the strangeness of these un-mappable days.
Art Post of the Week
In this vlog, Evan Puschak, known as Nerdwriter on Youtube, does a deep dive into Edward Hopper's iconic painting Nighthawks. It was finished in New York City, in the weeks following the bombing of Pearl Harbor, when everyone was wondering—what now?
Puschak tells the story of this piece beautifully. I highly recommend sitting down and giving this a watch.
Music of the Week
KUTX is the best Rock 'n Roll radio station in the U.S. They have a simple app that enables you to stream it live from everywhere. It has a handy playlist function that shares a running list of what is played, which is perfect for remembering that one awesome song..
KUTX is community supported so you don't have to wait through long traditional commercial breaks. I love the curated randomness of listening to the radio, it's always on in the car and at home.
Tech of the Week
Inspirobot is a hilarious project that describes itself as "an artificial intelligence dedicated to generating unlimited amounts of unique inspirational quotes for endless enrichment of pointless human existence."
Here are some gems it created for me. Get inspired!
