The Things You Remember
There are a couple of topics that often come up in my conversations with CEOs and Sales Leaders.
One common question (especially lately) - "What was it like during 2008? Was it tough to sell? How did you make it through?"
The answer to the question matters less than the feeling that arises when it is asked. The memories that come back.
I remember my team.
I remember my peers.
I remember some tough leadership meetings, and some tough 1:1s.
But most of all— the feeling that comes back is one of pride, that we stayed positive and we didn't give up.
If this quarter has been a tough one for you, or for your company, just know that your reaction to this adversity is what you'll remember 10 years down the road— not the adversity itself.
So like most things in life, it's up to you.
Best of luck to everyone out there finishing out the month and quarter, and remember that life comes in waves, and a new one is always just above the horizon.
